What is a Doula?
A doula is a trained professional who provides unconditional, continuous, and customized support to a family during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. The word "doula" is a Greek word that translates to "female servant." She is there to guide you, help you gain information and be a complete resource for you. Whether you need a referral, a technique for relief, or just a listening ear, she is always available with unbiased support!
Different types of doulas
Prenatal Doula ~ Serves families through pregnancy and postpartum. Does NOT attend the birth.
Birth Doula ~ Serves families through pregnancy to prepare for birth, attends the birth and assists in the immediate postpartum period.
Postpartum Doula ~ Serves families through the postpartum period, up to 12 weeks after the birth.
Bereavement Doula ~ Serves families though miscarriage, stillbirth, and unfavorable conditions in baby.
